Austin-area real estate is intensifying as May 2012 became the 12th straight month of sales volume increases and the fourth straight month of price increases for Austin-area homes.

Single-family home sales in April 2012 were up 16 percent when compared to April 2011. At the same time, the median price for Austin-area homes was $212,000, or nine percent more than the same month of the prior year.

Single-family home sales in February 2012 were up 16 percent when compared to February 2011. At the same time, the median price for Austin-area homes was $195,000, three percent more than the same month of the prior year.
