Winnipeg, Manitoba resident Janet Robertson will receive the ALS Society of Canada’s Sidney Valo Exceptional Fundraising Program Award

Cold Lake, Alberta residents Pat and Michelle Feduniak will receive the ALS Society of Canada’s Mary Pollock WALK for ALS Volunteer Award for their leadership and commitment in organizing the Cold Lake, Alberta WALK for ALS.

Rawdon Gold Mines, NS resident Emily Meehan will receive the ALS Society of Canada’s Leader of Tomorrow Award (age14-17 category) in recognition of her outstanding efforts to raise awareness and funds for ALS.

London, ON resident Dora Redman will receive the ALS Society of Canada’s Honourary Life Member Award, in recognition of her outstanding dedication and exceptional efforts as a volunteer.

Kamloops, BC Television Station CFJC TV7 will receive the ALS Society of Canada’s Tony Proudfoot Exceptional Public Awareness Program Award (media), in recognition of its outstanding support to the ALS community.

Mount Albert, ON resident Allison Druery will receive the ALS Society of Canada’s Leader of Tomorrow Award (age 18-25 category) in recognition of her outstanding efforts to raise awareness and funds for the ALS.

Sandy Amodio, author of the self-published book, Out of this Box: Poems and Reflections on Being Human, has pledged to help the ALS Society of Canada fight ALS by donating the proceeds of her book’s online sales from lulu.com to ALS Canada.

The ALS “Curenament,” a paintball fundraiser organized by Jason Brown, was held at Young Guns Paintball in Stony Plain, AB, on July 10, 2011,and raised more than $3,700 in funds for the ALS Society of Alberta and the ALS Society of Canada.

On July 16, 2011, the Murphy’s Camping on the Ocean Cribbage Fundraising Event was held in Murphy Cove, NS, raising more than $400 for the ALS Society of Canada.
