Chartridge Conference Centre was magically transformed into Lapland-style ‘Hotel Santa’ when it was used by BBC One to film its Christmas comedy drama special, ‘Lapland’.

Chartridge Conference Company has appointed two new sous chefs at Hitchin Priory. Bringing fresh ideas and a range of new dishes, Andrew McCusker and Jerry Cox will play a major role in taking the standard of cuisine to an even higher level.

Hitchin will be rocking to the Rhythms of the World when the charity celebrates the 20th anniversary of their “Festival of World Music”.

Hitchin Priory have their sights set on raising £5000 for Keech Hospice Care for Children when they open their gates for a great Family Fun Day on Father’s Day, Sunday 19th June.

Chartridge Conference Company has announced the appointment of Ashwin Roda as general manager of Lydiard House Conference Centre in Swindon.

A charity dining evening organised by Hitchin-based businessman and entrepreneur Dr Bipin Patel was attended by over 170 people and raised over £7500 which will be donated to Barnardo’s and the Multiple Sclerosis Trust.

Hitchin was treated to a star-studded charity cabaret lunch which raised £9000 thanks to Neil Rutherford who began his theatrical career at the Hertfordshire town’s local Queen Mother Theatre.

Hitchin Priory, the 14th century Carmelite monastery in the historic Hertfordshire market town was chosen as the picturesque backdrop to a new ITV celebrity chef series.
