Horizons Savannah board president Tom Oxnard received the prestigious "Horizons Hero" Award from Horizons National at a ceremony in Connecticut on April 12. The award honors the hard work Mr. Oxnard has put into Horizons Savannah for nearly a decade.

Horizons Savannah will host its 3rd Annual “Honoring an Educator” Gala March 1 at the Savannah DeSoto Hilton. This year’s honoree is Dr. Annette Brock, a life-long educator who has received many awards for her scholarship and humanitarianism.

Horizons Savannah is excited to release its statistics from the recent 2012 summer enrichment program, in which students in all grades made significant gains in both reading and math.

Horizons Savannah has received a $1,500 grant from Share Our Strength’s Georgia No Kid Hungry Campaign. The grant will be used to to support Horizons’ Summer Meals Program for the upcoming summer program.

Horizons Savannah has received a $3,000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. The grant will be used to replenish reading program supplies for the upcoming summer program.

Horizons Savannah proudly announces a new partnership with a venerable, well-respected Savannah educational institution: this summer, Bethesda Academy will host students from Horizons’ academic enrichment program in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades.

Horizons Savannah will announce a new educational partner at its "Honoring an Educator" Gala & Silent Auction, Friday, March 2, 6:30pm. The silent auction will feature unique, never-before-seen-in-Savannah items, and WTOC's Sonny Dixon will emcee.

Horizons Savannah will honor Ms. Paula Wallace, Co-Founder and President of the Savannah College of Art and Design, at its Second Annual “Honoring an Educator” Gala and Silent Auction on March 2, 2012, 6:30pm at the Savannah Marriott Riverfront.

Horizons Savannah has received a $9,000 grant from The OfficeMax Charitable Foundation, which funds K-12 education institutions and non-profit groups that provide support to K-12 institutions.

Horizons Savannah is proud to announce that Julian Childers, Academic Coordinator for this summer enrichment program for underprivileged children, and Amy Gorham, Reading Specialist, have been nominated for the Lyn McNaught Teaching Award.
