Beginning immediately, the Independence Visitor Center will oversee the management of the Fairmount Park Welcome Center located at 16th JFK Blvd. Changes include expanded ticket sales, extended hours and our renowned world class concierge service.

The holiday season is upon us, and the Independence Visitor Center, invites visitors and locals to get into the holiday spirit! Stop by the Visitor Center to experience a bit of holiday fun with our upcoming activities!

Centered on ten women who were born, raised, visited or lived in Philadelphia and the surrounding area, this scavenger hunt is aimed to open visitors’ eyes to the rich history and impact women have made in the Philadelphia region.

Families and visitors of all ages are invited to join the Independence Visitor Center on March 13, 2009, from 11 am to 1 pm to witness the life of Annie Oakley, reenacted by a historical interpreter.

On Saturday, February 28, 2009, from 5 pm to 7 pm Gwen Ifill will give a brief book reading and discussion of her newly-released book, followed by a book signing in Independence Ballroom at the Independence Visitor Center

The Independence Visitor Center invites youths aged 4 – 18 to submit a video of their recitation of any of the now-famous speeches the President delivered during the course of his campaign.
