FLATE, the National Science Foundation Excellence for high-tech manufacturing is partnering with Hillsborough Community College, the School District of Hills borough County and local manufacturers to offer several robotics camps this summer.

FLATE, the NSF Center of excellence for high-tech manufacturing at HCC in Brandon is hosting a series of events to celebrate national robotics week. This interactive event which will be held April 8 at HCC in Brandon from 3 p.m.

Manufacturers and educators committed to promote, educate, and train Florida’s high-tech workforce will receive special recognition at the 9th Annual Manufacturers Association of Florida Manufacturers Summit in Orlando, FL.

Florida Advanced Technological Education Center was awarded an unprecedented third round of center-level funding for an Advanced Technological Education (ATE) regional center of excellence by the National Science Foundation.

Brad Jenkins, professor and director of engineering technology at St. Petersburg College in St. Petersburg, Fla., has been named HI-TEC Educator of the year. Jenkins will receive the award on July 25, 2012 at the HI-TECH Conference in Denver, CO.

FLATE, the NSF Center of Excellence for high-tech manufacturing, in conjunction with HCC-South Shore campus, is organizing its second, annual summer energy camp. The camp will be held July 9-12 at HCC-South Shore Campus in Ruskin, FL.

NSF Center of excellence in advanced technological education at HCC in Brandon is taking a delegation of students, faculty members and administrators from Florida’s community and state colleges on a 21 day technician training program to Spain.
