Wayne Brower, director of Wake Tech’s Fire Services program, has been awarded the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. The award, given by the governor’s office, is North Carolina’s highest civilian honor.

Wake Tech Community College hosted commencement exercises for fall 2012 graduates today in the gymnasium on Main Campus. More than 500 students received degrees and diplomas in two ceremonies. Graduates ranged in age from 19 to 58.

As Wake Tech prepares for its 50th anniversary, the college is launching a new brand identity to reflect the impact it has had and continues to have on the region. Wake Tech partnered with VisionPoint Marketing of Raleigh to develop the new brand.
