Plays are accepted in the following divisions: Elementary (grades 4-6), Junior High (grades 7-9) and High School (grades 10-12). Interested young playwrights must submit their plays online at www.njypf.org.

Theatre classes for Kids, Teens and Adults in the Fall of 2012

From the 261 plays submitted by young writers throughout the state, a panel of theatre professionals has selected four High School plays, three Junior High School plays and three Elementary Schools plays.

Playwrights Theatre will present two programs during the New Jersey Theatre Alliance Stages Festival. The Stages Festival is a month-long, state-wide celebration of theatre and the performing arts – a project of the NJTA and its membership.

The Madison Young Playwrights Festival brings to life the work of young playwrights who completed a play as part of a 10-week playwriting program conducted by Playwrights Theatre.

Interested young playwrights must submit their plays online at www.njypf.org. Submissions must be received by January 14, 2012 for playwrights in grades 10-12; and by January 15, 2012 for playwrights in grades 4-9.

Playwrights Theatre's Summer Theatre Camp for kids and teens begins in June. The classes are taught by trained professional theatre educators who have years of experience as working actors, writers and directors.

Playwrights Theatre announced today that it has reached an agreement with Fairleigh Dickinson University to present its New Play Development programming in residence on the College at Florham in Madison, NJ.
