The PollyGrind.com Film Festival has decided to invite Dead Hooker in a Trunk back to Las Vegas this year after the film was banned in Saskatoon, Canada.

To help celebrate Ted V. Mikels' 82nd birthday, theatre7 is hosting a series of screenings of films from the grindhouse master.

After a quiet opening in March, theatre7 looks to make some noise in April with Ted V. Mikels, a world preimere, short showcases and more.

Team registration is currently open for the Las Vegas 48 Hour Film Project, which takes places April 8-10. The winning film will screen at the Cannes International Film Festival.

Polly Staffle Grindhouse Fest, which is currently calling for entries, gets a new venue this year with theatre7 of the Las Vegas arts district. The event's director hopes for an even bigger and badder event than 2010's successful debut.

Emmy Award winner Derek Stonebarger's theatre7 will showcase independent works in the art district of downtown Sin City starting this Saturday. The theater will also be an art gallery and has its soft opening Friday.

The event gets underway this Wednesday and runs until May 16 at the Sci-Fi Center (2520 State Street) in Las Vegas.
