Dr. Paul Herbener and wife Diana are organizing a toy drive to help children in the area. Toys are being collected at various locations throughout the area and will be distributed through Interfaith Friends. Toys are needs for infant through teens.

Saturday Oct. 8th & Sunday the 9th, the Montrose High School will host the "Quilts of the Endless Mountains Quilt Show" at the Montrose High School. Featuring 100 plus quilts from around the region along with the Hoffman Challange, a traveling show.

Harvest Fest 2011 takes place-Sunday Oct. 16, 2011-noon until 3:30 at Shadowbrook Resort, Rt. 6, Tunkhannock. Including crafts, a moon walk, pumpkin decorating and food. $5 admission/children. Adults FREE when accompanied by a child.

The Quilts of the Endless Mountains Quilt Show (QEM) is being held at the Montrose High School, Saturday Oct. 8th and Sunday the 9th. The committee is looking for quilters to display their works. Entries must be received by September 10, 2011.

Nicholson Volunteer Fire Company in Nicholson, PA will be holding their annual car show on Sunday August 7th, 2011. All Classic and Antique Cars are welcome along with big rigs, trucks, off-roads and hot rods. Dash plaques to first 150 vehicles.
