Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Middle Island facility on the south of Hong Kong Island was buzzing from early this morning as crews readied their boats for the first day’s racing in the St. Regis International China Coast Regatta.

Entries to Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s flagship Big Boat regatta closed last night, with 36 competitors looking forward to 3 days of racing in 15 to 20 knots of breeze in the waters off the south of Hong Kong Island starting this Friday 12 October

Despite an inauspicious start to the day, the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club (RHKYC) ended up with a win on Day 1.

All 11 crew from the sailing yacht Tipsy Frenz which sank in the early hours of 3 June whilst racing to Kaohsiung, Taiwan, arrived back in Hong Kong yesterday from Manila where they were taken after being rescued by a cargo vessel.

Just under 57 hours after they set off from Hong Kong, Orient Express crossed the line at Kaohsiung, Taiwan, at the end of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club’s Taiwan Strait Race, a 350nm Category One Offshore Race across the South China Sea.

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club is proud to announce the second Taiwan Strait Race, a 350nm Category One Offshore Race across the South China Sea from Hong Kong to Kaohsiung, Taiwan.

The Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club received double honours at the recent 8th Asia Boating Awards organised by Asia-Pacific Boating and China Boating.

Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club will host seven international Match Racing teams at this weekend’s BNP Paribas Match Racing International Regatta, an ISAF Grade 3 event.
