The SCHF is delighted to present “FISH TALE”, the Story of Peter. John Maxwell performs this one-man show as we look at the life of Jesus through the eyes of an illiterate blue-collar worker whose name is Peter.

The SCHF will present the classic “OH, MR. FAULKNER, DO YOU WRITE?” as a dinner theater performance on October 1, 2009. The play is John Maxwell’s one-man show based on the life of Mississippi’s own, William Faulkner.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation is pleased to welcome the talented John Maxwell as he presents his own Creative Writing Workshop. He will guide students through the writer’s journey in creating monologues of their own.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation of Vicksburg has been awarded a $21,750 grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission (MAC). This grant is a portion of the $1.5 million in grants the Commission will award in 2009-2010.

The SCHF is delighted to introduce beginner Traditional Irish Dance classes. Irish dancing is great fun, terrific exercise and will help to fine tune or develop the participant’s sense of rhythm. These workshops will be held on Saturday, July 11.

Vicksburg will celebrate Mardi Gras in style at the 7th annual Mardi Gras Ball on Saturday, February 21, 2009 at 8:00pm in the Southern Cultural Heritage Auditorium. Musical entertainment will be provided by the Colonels.

The Southern Cultural Heritage Foundation presents the 2nd Annual Holly Days Arts and Crafts show. The Show will be held Saturday, December 5, 2009 from 9:00am-3:00pm. It will precede Vicksburg Main Street’s Annual Christmas Parade at 5pm.
