CRANSTON, R.I. –As reported last week, Big Brothers Big Sisters Southeastern Connecticut chapter announced their closing on October 31st due to  funding issues leaving  approximately 50 children and their mentors without a program.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS) has announced it has opened a new Donation Center in Johnston to serve communities in the central and northern parts of the state.

Roger Ceresi’s All Starz will perform at the “2013 Welcome to Summer Celebration” fundraiser on June 15 at the Bonnet Shores Beach Club in Narragansett. Proceeds from the event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Ocean State (BBBSOS).

The new donation center will serve Aquidneck Island and nearby communities and support the agency's new Military Mentoring Program.

(BBBSOS) has received the prestigious “Gold Standard Award” from the National Leadership Council of Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. The award was presented this year to just 13 agencies among the 355 agencies that operate nationwide.
