Children in Year 2 at Bedales Pre-Prep Dunannie, enjoyed an extraordinary visit to Petworth House last week as they stepped back in time to the Victorian era.

Bedales welcomed novelist Niall Griffiths as the school’s official ‘writer in residence’ this week. During his stay Niall spoke at the Bedales ‘Civics’ assembly about his experience of having his third novel, Kelly+Victor, made into a film.

Bedales Sixth Form students and teachers spent half term helping two schools in Africa as part of an ongoing philanthropic initiative.

On Saturday 29 September, Bedales Prep, Dunhurst unveiled a sculpture designed by pupils in collaboration with local sculptor Andrew Cheese. The sculpture features three figures in motion and was inspired by the Olympics.

Bedales School played host to a performance by Maasai warriors the week before last and invited several local primary schools to join in.

Bedales student golfers are celebrating after winning the Nett competition at the Independent Schools Golf Association (ISGA) Cup at Shire Golf Club.

Students from Bedales and Bedales Prep, Dunhurst, enjoyed hockey coaching from Team GB Olympic Bronze medallist Alex Danson the week before last, as part of the school’s gifted and talented curriculum.

Bedales Block 4 student (year 10), Emily Swettenham, received an award from Marwell for her entry in a photography competition that received over 1500 submissions.

Children at Bedales Pre-Prep, Dunannie, enjoyed a day of storytelling workshops with the author and illustrator of best-selling award winning children’s book The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch.

The Autumn term at Bedales has marked the start of construction of a new sports pavilion dedicated to the memory of former Bedales student Sam Banks, who died at the age of 20 whilst travelling in India.
