Delaware Humane Association has launched a new program called Close to Home offering FREE spaying and neutering of cats and kittens to anyone living in the 19801 zip code.

You and your dog are cordially invited to “mix and mingle” at Delaware Humane Association’s 7th Annual Muttini Mixer, a fun dog-friendly cocktail party fundraising event on March 23rd at the Delaware Center for Horticulture in Wilmington, DE.

One-mile walk by dogs and their people is part of a fun, family friendly afternoon to raise money for Delaware’s premiere no kill animal shelter and adoption center, featuring celebrity canine and special Walk Grand Marshall, Oogy.

DHA’s mobile medical unit traveled to Rehoboth Beach in June to provide spay/neuter surgery and vaccinations for over 60 cats at no cost thanks to funds raised by their annual Walk for the Animals at the Beach.

Celebrating American Heroes, DHA’s 21st Annual Walk for the Animals on October 2nd, a day of fun and fundraising! All proceeds benefit Delaware Humane Association, a no kill animal shelter, and its mission as carried out in a four state area.

Meet and mingle with other Delaware Humane Association supporters at Playtime at the Beach, a series of "doggy happy hours" in Rehoboth Beach. Dogs are welcome at each venue and a portion of the proceeds from each event will be donated to DHA!

Meet and mingle with other animal lovers who support the Delaware Humane Association at Playtime at DHA, a series of "doggy happy hours" hosted by and taking place at DHA on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from May through September.

Low cost vaccinations and microchipping for cats and dogs and New Castle County dog licenses are available at DHA's monthly Wellness Clinics, held in partnership with and on-site at Concord Pet Foods & Supplies stores in New Castle and Kent Counties.

Many kittens (and adult cats) will be available at Delaware Humane Association's latest Adopt-a-Thon at PetSmart in Wilmington, DE on August 6th & 7th. Same day adoptions are available for qualified applicants.

In September 2010 the Delaware Humane Association’s Board of Directors voted unanimously to construct a new facility on its current Wilmington site. A capital campaign to underwrite the cost of the new shelter was also authorized.
