The Detroit Public Library Choir continues its tradition of collaborating with local musical artists to celebrate the dynamic seasons we experience here in Detroit.  The "Ninth Annual Spring Concert," takes place Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at 6:00 p.m.

The event titled, "The 13th Amendment: A Historical Perspective- Justice, Freedom and the Spaces In Between," offers an in-depth breakdown of the historic document

The free re-opening & ribbon-cutting celebration is scheduled for Saturday, February 18, 2017 @ Noon

The Author Talk @ Main event will feature Sister Souljah discussing her latest novel, A Moment of Silence: Midnight III at the Library's Clara Stanton Jones Auditorium

The seven-screening Michigan tour kicks off on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Jefferson Branch Library location

The free grand re-opening & ribbon-cutting celebration is scheduled for Thursday, April 16th @ 3:00 p.m.

Sesquicentennial celebration takes place on Wednesday, March 25, 2015, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

The Detroit Public Library (DPL) launched its newly digitized collections that showcase rare and unique images from the Library’s Special Collections.

The Library premieres “The Legacy of Roland Hayes” performed by George Shirley and the Cut Time Players on Wednesday, February 12 @ 7:00 p.m.

Detroit – Opening on Friday, January 25, 2014 the “1812: Star-Spangled Banner Nation” exhibit is presented by the Detroit Public Library with support from the Michigan Commission on the Commemoration of the Bicentennial of the War of 1812.
