Scoop Dogg today announced a new line of patent pending snow shovels designed specifically for backcountry winter and avalanche rescue use. The unique design eliminates the permanent or collapsing handle associated with traditional snow shovels.

Johann Sigurdson and David Collette will follow the route of their ancestor, Leif Eiriksson. Going home or "fara heim" they will search for evidence that the Vikings travelled to Hudson Bay and into the heart of North America.
