Essentials for Young Lives® Drive, a community-wide effort to collect essential baby items like diapers and formula for homeless infants and toddlers in the metro Atlanta area collected over 63,000 items!

HomeAid Atlanta announced today its 2012 Essentials for Young Lives® Drive will take place April 30-May 7 in honor of Mother’s Day. The drive is a community-wide effort to collect “essential” baby items for homeless mothers and their infants.

On Jan. 19, HomeAid Atlanta announced the recipients of its sixth annual awards for Builder of the Year, Trade Partner of the Year and Volunteer of the Year at the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Installation and Awards Program.

A Decatur family struggling in the down economy will get to celebrate the holidays in a newly refreshed home thanks to a group of former professional football players and members of the local home building community.

On Oct. 14, a group of Bank of America Community Volunteers teamed up with HomeAid Atlanta, a nonprofit that builds housing for the homeless, for a HomeAid Cares project benefiting HomeStretch, a nonprofit organization serving homeless families.

For the third consecutive year, Building Owners and Managers of Atlanta (BOMA-Atlanta) is teaming up with HomeAid Atlanta for a community service project to benefit Atlanta's homeless on Friday, Oct. 21.

HomeAid Atlanta welcomes three new members to its board of directors: Dale Boyd of State Bank & Trust Company, Kevin Clark of Beazer Homes and Eugene James of Metrostudy.

The Atlanta Remodelers Council recently teamed up with HomeAid Atlanta for a service project at The Drake House in an effort to help the organization continue providing safe and comfortable housing to homeless families in the north Fulton area.

HomeAid Atlanta will complete a green retrofit at a home operated by Decatur Cooperative Ministry, a nonprofit serving homeless families. The project is part of a new national Environmental Sustainability Program funded by the Walmart Foundation.

To help a vital community agency focus funding on the assistance it provides homeless women and children, the Greater Atlanta Home Builders Association’s Remodelers Council will conduct energy audits and a maintenance inspection at The Drake House.
