Hope HealthCare Services hosts its fifth annual Celebration of Women on Thursday, April 26, at Harborside Event Center in downtown Fort Myers with the 2012 theme, “Broadway Meets Fifth Avenue.”

Hope is offering a free advance directives document, Five Wishes, to address the decisions that must be made when a serious illness or incident occurs. The booklet explains possible medical and legal choices that may need to be made.

Among the new and gently used items donated to the “Love That Dress” event earlier this year were 150 wedding gowns, from the simple to the extravagant, ranging in size from 4 to 26. These gowns are now available at the Hope Chest resale store.

Hope HealthCare Services is offering a caregiver support group, to explore ways of coping with many of the emotional and physical issues that accompany the role of caregiver. This new support group is open to anyone in a caregiver role, at no cost.

It surprises many people to learn that 680,000 Veterans die every year in the U.S. – that's 25 percent of all deaths. Hospice providers have been working to help these heroes at life's end.

Fitness, fun and fundraising are all planned as part of the fourth annual Ride for Hope, in support of Hope Hospice. Three route options through Bonita Springs are available for cyclists during this National Hospice Month event.

The National Hospice Foundation’s Run to Remember program is a Participating Charity Group for Miami's ING Marathon, enabling runners to support Hope Hospice. It can also be a memorable way to honor a loved one during the race on January 29, 2012.

There will be a special appearance by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Cheerleaders at the weigh-in ceremony at Matanza's Inn on Fort Myers Beach on September 17. Photographic opportunities will be available for anglers and guests.
