Hydrogen Fuel Cars Now

They may not be cars, but nonetheless hydrogen fuel cell forklifts are the first commercial production H2 powered vehicles to be sold on the open market.

Yesterday, I talked about the APFCT hydrogen scooter taking a road trip around Taiwan. This got me to thinking about where gasoline scooters could be replaced by hydrogen fuel cell scooters.

Not often do I get the chance to utter the phrase, “hydrogen cars for sale” but today I do. Once before I was proud enough to day the phrase hydrogen truck for sale but now a “used” H2 car has come on the market.

UTC Power has announced that their 5 kW fuel cell is being used inside a new BMW Series 1 Hybrid electric car. The unveiling this week was during the 25th anniversary BMW ZT celebration in Munich, Germany.

I get tired of the Chicken Little’s of the world or the advocates of other alternative fuel vehicles comparing hydrogen cars to the Hindenburg. The Hindenburg fallacy I’ve addressed on the website, blog and in numerous emails ad nauseam.
