The largest group of poets in the Raleigh-Durham region, Living Poetry, has announced its First Annual Best of 2011 Poetry Contest.

Triangle poets Stan Absher and Debra Kaufman will be featured at Living Poetry’s final Poet Local event on Sunday, May 15th.

On March 13th, 2011, Debra Kaufman will host Living Poetry’s Poet Local event. Kaufman will discuss her recently published book, her poetic journey and will answer questions about her writing practices.

Alice Osborn will host Living Poetry’s Poet Local on Sunday, February 20th. Osborn will discuss her publishing career, writing practices and answer questions about her poetry books.

Four-time Pushcart nominee Ricky Garni will host Living Poetry’s first Poet Local of 2011 on Sunday, January 30th. Garni will discuss his publishing history, writing career, and will answer questions about his writing process.

On December 12th, 2010 Maureen Sherbondy will host Living Poetry’s Poet Local event. Sherbondy will discuss her recently published book, her writing career, and will answer questions about her writing process.

On November 21st, 2010, Debra Kaufman will host Living Poetry’s Poet Local event. Kaufman will discuss her recently published book, her poetic journey and will answer questions about her writing practices.

Living Poetry’s October 10, 2010 Poet Local features Jaki Shelton Green. She will discuss her literary career, which includes such accomplishments as being North Carolina’s first Piedmont Laureate and receiving international writing residencies.

Living Poetry, a free poetry group based out of Raleigh, North Carolina, will host the inaugural Poetry on Demand Booth at poetrySPARK, a segment of the annual SPARKcon festival weekend.

Bruce Lader of Raleigh is June’s featured Poet Local in the next of Living Poetry’s chain of 2010 events. Lader will discuss his writing career and answer questions about writing residencies, submitting to journals and publishing books.
