Final Stage of Adaptive Playground Funded by Veteran's Group

Students in Apache Junction Unified District's Gifted/Talented program recently showcased an array of amazing student projects before taking off for summer break.

Kelsie T. Knaus, a recent graduate at Apache Junction High School in Arizona, received a hands-on experience about what it is like to work in the medical field thanks to a new Shadowing Program the high school launched in January.

Registration is underway for new and returning students who will be attending Apache Junction Unified School District during the 2018-2019 school year.

Logan Reichwald, a seventh grader at Cactus Canyon Junior High School, 801 W. Southern Ave. in Apache Junction, AZ was named 2018 Arizona Jr. High School Rodeo Association Bull Riding State Champion. Logan has been riding bulls for two years.

Instead of merely teaching history, Alec McDaniel is making some history of his own. The Apache Junction High School History teacher was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS).

Registration for the annual MHB Golf Tournament to benefit My Hope Bag, a local non-profit organization that supports the breast cancer community, is underway. Online registration is being accepted at www.myhopebag.org.

This summer, the Apache Junction Unified School District will partner with the US Department of Agriculture to offer free nutritious breakfasts and lunches to children age 18 and younger at three locations in Apache Junction.

The Apache Junction Unified School District will host a job fair Monday, April 23 from 5 to 8 p.m. in the 9-10 Building of Apache Junction High School, 2525 S. Ironwood Drive in Apache Junction.

Registration for Apache Junction Unified School District's  before and after school care program begins April 16. The fee is $100 per semester. Registration will be accepted at The Learning Center, 2805 S.
