SGS was assigned a contract to provide pre- and post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) services for the expansion project at the Refinería de Cartagena S.A. (REFICAR) refinery in Cartagena, Colombia by CB&I on March 20, 2012.

In February 2012, SGS was awarded a contract to provide inspection and expediting services by Saipem.

SGS was assigned a contract to conduct performance testing of ancillary services provided by four natural gas combined-cycle power plants in Turkey by Enerjisa.

On June 13-14, 2012, SGS will be attending the 11th RenewableUK Global Offshore Wind 2012 Conference and Exhibition in London, UK. At stand 545, SGS’s team of experts will showcase its wide range of renewable energy services.

On February 11, 2012, SGS was awarded a non-destructive testing contract for the Escravos Gas Project in Nigeria by West African Ventures.

In March 2012, SGS was awarded an inspection contract for a new gas power plant in Iraq by LANCO.

SGS successfully carried out a seminar on asset integrity management (AIM) at the Carlton Hotel in Karachi, Pakistan on March 7, 2012.

In February 2012, SGS was awarded a non-destructive testing (NDT) contract for the new press center, intended for the Eurovision Song Contest in May 2012.

SGS has successfully completed in-service inspection of 50 wind turbines at the Dahao and Chaonan wind farms for China Resources New Energy Group Co., Ltd in Guangdong, China.

SGS article entitled “Ensuring Reliable Operations of Wind Turbines,” written by Olaf Robenek and Nils Dreischerf, wind turbine inspectors from SGS, was featured in the February 2012 issue of Renewable Energy Technology magazine.
