Spencer Meagher is a prolific southern Illinois watercolor artist known for his brightly colored pieces and practical workshops. Meagher’s works will be featured in a solo exhibit this May at the Palestine Art Center.

“My mission is to honor long gone craftsmen and artisans whose work lives on in small items and props found in the paintings of the Great Masters”, said Dave Gahimer of his “Turnings from Antiquity”.

The March 19th banquet kicks off a full year of Bicentennial activities in the “Oldest Town in Illinois” - Palestine!

It is estimated that changing the 111 windows will save as much as 25% of the heating costs at the High School in Palestine, IL.

Funds will be used to make streetscape improvements in Palestine as the community begins its 2011 Bicentennial Celebration, the first in the State of Illinois.
