Home Again, United Way’s campaign to involve the community in ending chronic homelessness* in San Diego County, has announced St. Vincent de Paul Village Inc to manage and oversee Project 25, Home Again’s Frequent User Initiative.

Over the past 17 months, 177 chronically homeless San Diegans found a place they can call home – permanently. Thousands more have received medical care and other supportive services. As a result, the public saved hundreds of thousands of dollars.

On Tuesday, September 15, hundreds of San Diego area companies kicked off the official launch of the 2009-2010 United Way/CHAD campaign in Balboa Park’s Hall of Champions by raising more than $1 million for local health & human services programs.

In response to our community’s overwhelming need for basic services, including food and shelter, United Way of San Diego County has made a funding opportunity available on a one-time basis to address this increased demand.
