Port St. Joe winter resident and novelist, Chuck Waldron, will be one of the local authors participating in booksALIVE 2011, the 12th Annual Festival of Reading, a day of author presentations and book sales.

Meet Alec a man who puts his ideals on the line when he volunteers for the International Brigade in Spain in 1937. He finds his ideals tested by betrayal and loss beyond his imagination.

A curious fantasy, Remington and the Mysterious Fedora, introduces the reader to a young man, a manual typewrite, and an old fedora. Like a character in an old movie he begins a novel, a novel dictated by the fedora, a strange story indeed.

Tears in the Dust is an exciting novel set against the backdrop of the Spanish Civil War. From Vermont, through Canada, on to Spain and Back, Tears in the Dust ends with an exciting climax on a cliff side of the Niagara Escarpment.
