Cures Within Reach

Medical research nonprofit Cures Within Reach has confirmed the co-chair committee for the 2nd Annual BioScience Awards of the Midwest (BAM) scheduled for June 17, 2014, at the Standard Club in Chicago.

Cures Within Reach is pleased to name Illinois Governor Pat Quinn as honorary chair of the 2nd Bioscience Awards Midwest event on June 17, 2014, celebrating patient impact through science, philanthropy and business.

Cures Within Reach (Cures), a non-profit dedicated to medical repurposing research, will be represented by Dr. Bruce Bloom and Dr. E. Mitchell Seymour on the Editorial Board of a new journal entitled “Drug Repurposing, Rescue, and Repositioning."

Batten Disease is a fatal, rare genetic disease affecting the nervous system and most often affecting children. Two families in the Chicago area touched by Batten are making a big difference in research through funds raised by their organizations.

On Monday, June 24th, 24 Golfers played over 1000 holes of golf at Ravinia Green Country Club to fund research into an immediately usable treatment for autism through Chicago’s philanthropic organization, Cures Within Reach.
