American University is a charter participant, and the first university in Washington, D.C., to enroll in a new national effort to encourage sustainability practices at colleges and universities around the country.

American University has won the Web Marketing Association’s “Best Web Site of Industry” in the education category for its Web site launched in 2009. AU is the first higher education institution to win the category since the award’s inception.
