The Film Lab yesterday announced the theme of the 12th annual 72 Hour Shootout, a global filmmaking competition celebrating diversity in the arts.

"The Opposite of a Fairy Tale," a movie about a woman imprisoned by her family, will enjoy a private preview screening in NYC on June 16th.

The vibrant and popular Uptown Restaurant and Lounge in NYC will be hosting the launch party of the Film Lab's famous 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition. The theme of the Shootout will be announced LIVE at The Uptown at 8pm EST!

CrossingsTV will be televising a new season of fresh, innovative and "deliciously diverse" entertainment from the Film Lab and AAFL TV beginning on April 28th. AAFL TV will also release the film The Opposite of a Fairy Tale this summer.

The Film Lab officially opened worldwide online registration for the famous annual 72 Hour Shootout filmmaking competition at www.film-lab.org - supporting ethnic and gender diversity in media entertainment.

The Film Lab's annual Fundraising Gala is to be held at Rockefeller Center on December 14th with the premiere of Under The Blood Red Sun, along with the cast and filmmaker Q&A featuring special guest, George Takei, and Chris Tashima.

The Film Lab, thanks to a grant from the Asian Women Giving Circle, is now in pre production on "The Opposite of a Fairy Tale," a film that re-thinks what it means to be old and draws the issue of elder abuse out of the shadows.
