Excitement continues during the final week of preparations for the XXX Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup. The Post Position Draw Press Conference hosted by Sandy Lane Hotel on 24th Feb, 2011, for this internationally recognised Group 1 race.

Nine horses are entered to compete tomorrow in the feature Coolmore "Home Of Champions" Stakes & Trophy, which is for 3-year-olds and older rated 0-140, going 1800 metres.

They are nine very competitive races carded for today at the Garrison Savannah, the fourth day of the Barbados Turf Club's fist racing season. Race seven is the feature Rotherley Construction Inc. Stakes & Trophy.

Horse racing in Barbados is a passion shared by both locals and visitors and with so many exciting racing events on the calendar; the Rotherley Construction Inc race day is not to be missed.

The Lord Michael Taylor owned, Andy Ward trained Daga was a convincing winner of the feature Rotherley Construction Inc. Stakes & Trophy (Condition Race) for Imported (Non-West Indian Bred) 3-year-olds, run over 1570 metres.

Racehorse owner Eugene Melnyk, is in search of a third Sandy Lane Barbados Gold Cup, as he has two horses nominated at the final stage for the 2011 running of the race.
