"Taylor is driven by love. He's a romantic and very dramatic," said Devon Mahon of his character in John Perovich's new play, unexpected, opening at Brelby Theatre Company this Friday.

Carolyn McBurney has worked with John Perovich as a director and a student and has been active with Brelby Theatre Company for several years, directing and co-writing After Hours at Rosie's Pub with the women of Brelby.

According to Costumer Allison Bauer, John Perovich's new play, unexpected, "follows a mother and her three daughters as she tries to protect them from the pain and heartache of love.

John Perovich's play, unexpected, opens May 19th at Brelby Theatre Company. "The collaborative process of theatre – everyone pitching in to put on a production – is the most exciting part of the process for me as a playwright," Perovich said.

"We are so excited to announce our 10th Season," said Brelby Artistic Director, Shelby Maticic. "It's hard to believe that we're already at this point in our company's journey.

John Perovich is a highly regarded playwright whose most recent offering, unexpected, opens May 19th at Brelby in Historic Downtown Glendale. He will teach a playwrighting intensive this spring at Brelby.

Carolyn McBurney will next be seen in the world premiere of John Perovich's unexpected opening at Brelby next month. She has an extensive background directing and producing for stage and television.

Shelby Huston says she is "thrilled to be taking on her first design at Brelby." She is currently attending GCC pursuing her arts degree and has been involved in theatre production for seven years.
