The closing months of 2013 have seen a flurry of inner Melbourne bar and pub sales. Fitzroy live music venue Gertrudes Brown Couch sold in late October and was followed by Barkers Hotel Hawthorn and the Railway Hotel South Melbourne.

The Shannon Motor Inn - Shannon Avenue Geelong has been listed for sale this month with Melbourne business and property agents Connolly Hospitality.

Barkers Hotel Hawthorn (formerly known as the Beehive Hotel) changed hands in early December. The business was purchased by an independent Melbourne hotel operator who plans to make use of the pub's (empty) second storey.
