A new Toastmasters Club is forming in East North of Brampton to empower individuals to become more effective communicators and leaders.

The Worldwide Pioneer in Communication and Leadership Development will hold meetings in what was once a one-room schoolhouse promoted by Dr. Edgerton Ryerson, the "father" of the Ontario education system.

District 86, which serves over 5300 Toastmasters in more than 245 clubs in Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario achieved distinguished status in 2016 – 2017 through a focus on members, club growth and individual educational achievements.

Matthew Ogbulafor was appointed to coordinating publicity efforts in the district to the public and to the over 5000 Toastmasters in more than 235 clubs in Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario.

Jacklyn Payne was chosen to build new clubs, strengthen existing clubs, and grow membership for the over 5000 Toastmasters in over 235 clubs in Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario.

Kristina Johnston was chosen to promote, support club quality, and member retention, for over 5000 Toastmasters in more than 235 clubs in Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario.

Cathy Herschell was chosen to lead and support the near 5000 Toastmasters in over 235 clubs in Southwestern, Central and Northern Ontario
