Former Baltimore Residents Make a Difference in Metropolitan Atlanta

The Enchanted Closet, a volunteer-run nonprofit organization serving teenage girls from low-income households across metro Atlanta, is hosting a Dress Drive event to collect donated items for its 11th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway season.

Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant generously donated $1,000 to the Enchanted Closet, which will directly benefit the organization’s GIRL$ Program. The Miss Georgia Plus America Pageant will participate in future Enchanted Closet events.

The Enchanted Closet kicks off its 10th Anniversary and 11th Annual Prom Dress Giveaway season with a generous donation of 200 dresses by Bella Bridesmaid. The dresses will be available at the Enchanted Closet Prom Dress Giveaway events in March.

The Enchanted Closet will celebrate a decade of serving disadvantaged Atlanta teen girls on Sunday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. at B's Bistro, 6010 Sandy Springs Circle NE, Sandy Springs, GA 30328. Open to the public. A $20 minimum donation is requested.

The Enchanted Closet was honored with a prestigious 2012 Top-Rated Award by GreatNonprofits, the leading provider of user reviews about nonprofit organizations. Since 2003, The Enchanted Closet has outfitted over 4,000 girls for special occasions.

The Enchanted Closet, Inc. is hosting a Bear Brigade and GIRL$ Program Holiday Celebration with Diva Day International on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m. at John C. Birdine Neighborhood Center, 215 Lakewood Way, Atlanta 30315.

The next Enchanted Closet GIRL$ Program, "Girls Can Create Games, Not Just Play Them," will be held on Dec. 8 at 10:30 a.m. at the John Burdine Neighborhood Center, 215 Lakewood Way, Atlanta. Girls, age 12-19, will be exposed to STEM careers.

On December 6, show support for The Enchanted Closet on Georgia Gives Day, a 24-hour giving event to inspire individuals to donate to their favorite charity. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be used to fund Enchanted Closet programming.
