Early Learning Coalition of SWFL

The Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida (ELC) has added three new members to their board of directors. All three have extensive roots in the region and are dedicated to improving educational opportunities for children.

Early Learning Coalition of SWFL (ELC) partners with Barnes & Noble Booksellers to host an in-store Book Fair, Saturday, December 1st. A percentage of sales from this three-store event will directly benefit the ELC’s Literacy Buddies Program.

Join Trinity Lutheran Church as they host a book shower to benefit the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida and the children of Lee County on Saturday, November 12th from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.

The Association of Early Learning Coalitions awarded Florida Representative, Denise Grimsley, their “Early Learning Champion Award”.

Books-A-Million and the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida have teamed up to host a fundraiser and book drive on November 21st benefiting the Literacy Buddies program.

More than 1,300 volunteers were matched with area children in an effort to increase early literacy in Southwest Florida. The program, Literacy Buddies, was developed and is coordinated by the Early Learning Coalition of Southwest Florida.

The Words, Words, Words initiative is an effort to spread the message to all parents, and especially low income parents, about the need to speak and engage their children, from birth, to increase their success in school.
