Escape From Berkeley

Shipyard labs, a DIY building space in Berkeley, CA,is hosting free open shops for participants in the Escape From Berkeley road rally to build alternatively powered vehicle entries. The goal is to foster innovation and educate the general public.

Over 3-days in October, 2008 alternatively powered vehicles will compete in a road rally from Berkeley, CA to Las Vegas, NV. Vehicles may not use any petroleum based fuels and all fuel used must be scavenged along the route.
