Exodus Place

Before his concert on Tuesday at the Van Andel Arena, Rock 'N Roll legend, Ted Nugent will be coming to Exodus Place. Ted will participate in an archery exhibition alongside the men of Exodus.

Exodus Place is doing what it can to break away from being categorized as a "homeless shelter".  There are many rescue missions around the city-ones that provide a warm bed and a meal for a night.

Exodus Place’s Pastor, Ray Townsend, has brought the National Archery in Schools Program to the building for the residents to be a part of and is hoping the men react as positively as the other participates around the country.

A new renovation project has started at Exodus Place, which is a transitional housing facility for men coming out of homelessness. The plan is to transform one of the common rooms into a “Fishing Lodge Café” for the men who live in the building

. In 2009, President Obama vowed to end homelessness by 2015, and right here in Grand Rapids, we are doing what we can to help with this mission.

On December 18th, Exodus Place will hold a dinner for all the residents of the building. For most, this is the first Christmas dinner these veterans have had, in a stable home, in years. They normally spend Christmas in a shelter, or our in the cold

Exodus Place is devoted to getting homeless military veterans off the street. One out of three homeless men are veterans. We want to lower that statistic, but we need your help.

Exodus Place has partnered with Goodwill to welcome 30 homeless Veterans to their facility. These men will have assistance with job placement, as well as affordable housing, inexpensive meals, counseling, fellowship and much more.

Exodus Place, of Grand Rapids, has transitioned from their old website to the new social networking site, Ning. Ning will allow Exodus to connect with donors easily and frequently.
