FLATE will offer several robotics camps this summer including one exclusively for girls. All camps will be held at HCC in Brandon, and are geared to showcase the applications of STEM and robotics in everyday high-tech manufacturing settings.

Engineers Week (EWeek) is currently underway with EWeek outreach to girls featuring a special “Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day” scheduled on Feb. 26. There are several ways to be involved/engaged in this national effort.

To address common concerns among manufacturers, and to engage, educate and excite students/larger audience about careers in manufacturing, FLATE has produced a dynamic, 30 minute, “Made in Florida” video that discusses manufacturing in Florida.

BAMA will be offering three separate scholarships in 2015 to support manufacturing education. All students enrolled/continuing enrollment in a technical school, state/community college, or a four-year university program are urged to apply.

On Oct. 3, as part of national manufacturing day in Florida, 3000 students from 35 counties will tour 95 high-tech manufacturing facilities across Florida. In Hillsborough County over 300 students will tour 11 manufacturers in the Tampa Bay area.

October 3 is the official kick-off day for 2014 National #MFGDayinFL. FLATE, the Florida-based, NSF regional center of excellence in manufacturing is inviting ALL involved in 2014 Manufacturing Day in FL to participate in a #MFGDayinFL Selfie-thon.

FLATE, the Florida-based NSF Regional Center of Excellence and its partners that include MAF, Regional Manufacturers Associations and Florida TRADE, have planned a massive statewide outreach campaign to celebrate National Manufacturing Day in FL.

Students enrolled in CTE programs across FL will have an opportunity to showcase their programs/best practices at the 2014 NCPN Conference in Orlando. Applications should be submitted by Sep. 2 to Nicole Palmer at npalmer7@valenciacollege.edu.
