Staff from Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center delivered 96 Easter baskets to Halifax Urban Ministries to brighten needy local children’s Easter Sunday.

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center has elected to participate in the Partnership for Patients initiative, whose goal is to help patients heal without complications while in the hospital.

On Tuesday, March 20, approximately 25 students from the Flagler Palm Coast High School chorus performed a variety of a capella songs at the Florida Hospital Flagler visitor's entrance.

On March 1, Marguerite Nerge celebrated her 90th birthday just as if it were any other Thursday – by volunteering at the Florida Hospital DeLand Welcome Desk, as she does each week.

Proud parents Christina Rho and Theodossis Zacharis are all smiles with their new reason to look forward to “Leap Day” every four years. Damian Alexander Zacharis was born at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center on Leap Day at 12:10 a.m.

In celebration of American Heart Month, Florida Hospital Volusia/Flagler has offered the public free resting EKGs. Hundreds of community members have already participated and on February 23 several local elected officials received their EKGs as well.

Approximately 30 four-and-five-year-olds from the Pre-K Choir at United Methodist Christian School sang praise songs such as “Lord’s Army,” “Build Each Other Up,” and “Jesus Loves Me” at Florida Hospital Flagler on Monday, February 20.

Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center invited fifth, sixth and seventh graders from Indigo Christian Junior Academy in Daytona Beach to spend a week at the hospital, learning about the body system from various physicians and hospital departments.

Daytona State College raised more than $2,100 for breast care for women in-need. The funds will be used exclusively for uninsured or underinsured women’s screening mammograms, diagnostic testing and other treatment, regardless of the woman’s age.
