With the use of sophisticated mathematical modelling techniques, a mathematician at PolyU and his co-researchers have completed a study that explains the phenomenon of multiple waves of influenza pandemic in the last century.

With its elegant and fashionable “CAN-WATCH” series using recycled materials, the start-up company Alchemist Creations which was founded with the support from the Micro Fund Scheme of PolyU has won the Germany’s “Red Dot Design Award 2013”.

In response to the massive urbanization process in China, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University has established the Research Institute for Sustainable Urban Development to address the issue of urban sustainability.

Two researchers from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University have been collaborating with CREAM in a global study, which identified 24 genes leading to short-sightedness, thus paved the way for further research on the prevention and control of myopia.
