"A Star of Renaissance" gala, jointly presented by the School of Hotel and Tourism Management (SHTM) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Hotel ICON, on 23 October (Tuesday) has successfully raised over HK$2 million for SHTM.

PolyU will confer Honorary Doctorates upon four prominent figures in recognition of their distinguished accomplishments and contributions at its 18th Congregation to be held on 27 October (Saturday).

The Council of PolyU is pleased to announce today (25 September 2012) the re-appointment of Professor Timothy W. Tong as President of the University for five years. Professor Tong’s second term will commence on 1 January 2014.

PolyU hailed the topping-out of the Jockey Club Innovation Tower on campus. The 15-storey Tower will be home to PolyU School of Design and it is also the first permanent architecture by world-renowned architect Zaha Hadid in Hong Kong.

PolyU will present "Mainland Programme Graduates Distinguished Achievement Award" to twelve alumni for the first time in recognition of their remarkable professional achievements and contributions to their alma mater and the community.

In celebrating the 75th Anniversary of PolyU, its Food Safety and Technology Research Centre has worked in collaboration with Wing Lai Yuen, a renowned Sichuan noodle restaurant in Hong Kong, to launch a "Mooncake Social Enterprise Project".

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University's School of Hotel and Tourism Management was this year's recipient of the McCool Breakthrough Award from the International Council of Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Education (I-CHRIE).

The “PolyU SQUINA 2012 Asian Universities Invitational Badminton Tournament” has come to a fruitful close. The winners of individual and mixed team competitions received prizes at the Award and Closing ceremony on the PolyU campus on 26 July.
