In the wake of Pakistan’s recent election to the UN Human Rights Council, a century-old Hindu temple was destroyed in the southern Pakistani port city of Karachi. HAF formally wrote to the Pakistani government, imploring restoration of the temple.

Demand an end to escalating persecution of religious minorities in Pakistan, a coalition of members of the House urged in a letter to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton this week. The letter, signed by 15 members of Congress, was spearheaded by HAF.

Strings of lights and traditional clay lamps lit up the home of the Deputy Chief of Mission Philip Barton at the British Embassy's annual Diwali celebration in D.C. This year HAF partnered with the Embassy to serve as a liaison to the community.

Hindu Americans celebrated a historic day as Tulsi Gabbard overwhelmingly prevailed to claim a congressional seat in the 2nd Congressional District of Hawaii. A Democrat, Gabbard will enter the House as the first Hindu-American legislator.
