Hospice at Home

“Powerful Tools for Caregivers” is an educational series designed to provide you with the tools you need to be the most effective caregiver you can.

Lory’s Place, a grief healing and education center of Hospice at Home, is offering two unique new grief workshops; Yea for Polymer Clay! and Craft Night at Lory’s Place.

The workshop for creating a unique memory pillow will happen on Mondays, July 11, 18 & 25, from 4:00 - 5:30 pm at the Buchanan Senior Center. Attendance at all sessions is required to finish the project and class size is limited to 15 people.

Creative writing can help you express emotions through putting your thoughts on paper. Hospice at Home/Lory’s Place is offering a summer bereavement workshop called A Different Kind of Writer’s Group.

The Richard Beckrow Memorial Scholarship is available to a graduating high school senior who will be pursuing a college education, is in financial need, and has experienced the death of a parent.

Hospice at Home in South Haven honored its volunteers at a Friends of Hospice luncheon in May and presented the Helen White Angel of Service Award to volunteer, Marge Norman.

Lory’s Place offers a free day camp for children, ages 5 – 12, on Thursday, June 23 from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm. A separate day camp for teens, ages 13 – 18, will be held on Saturday, June 25 from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm.

The program is offered at no charge. The loved one you’d like to remember does not have to be a father, all are welcome. The program is on Thursday, June 16 between 3:00 – 5:00 pm in the Community Room at Hospice at Home.

This program helps caregivers learn how to obtain community resources, manage caregiver stress, organize important documents, monitor safety and risk, develop an increased sense of personal effectiveness and decrease the sense of caregiver burden.

Look Good…Feel Better provides information and cosmetic advice to women battling cancer. Offered free of charge, the session is on Monday, May 23 from 5:30 – 7:00 pm at the Shoreline Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in South Haven, MI.
