So why can you pay tribute to American musical legends at a Holocaust museum?

The Jewish-American Hall of Fame plaques have found a home at the Virginia Holocaust Museum, in an exhibit that asks the question "What contributions to mankind might have been made by the 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust or their descendants?"

Coins commemorating the venerable Mini have been produced by The Royal Mint. Only a handful of automobiles have ever appeared on coins—since the valuable “Automobile Dollar” was issued in the Chinese province of Kweichow in 1928.

The citizens of Israel chose the hoopoe as the national bird. A folk tale tells how King Solomon gave the hoopoe its golden crown. This year, the hoopoe appears on silver and gold coins commemorating the 61st anniversary of Israel’s independence.

Mel Wacks who was head of the committee that coordinated the official medal commemorating 350 Years of Jewish Life in America in 2004 has presented the original dies to Peggy Pearlstein, Ph.D., Head of the Hebraic Section of the Library of Congress.

Milton Berle is the 39th inductee into the Jewish-American Hall of Fame, a non-profit, educational project, founded in 1969. A portrait plaque has been added to the exhibit on display at the headquarters of B’nai B’rith in Washington DC.
