Determination and commitment has been demonstrated by young singers and choir leaders traveling from across the world to attend Worcester International Festival for Young Singers

1 December 2013 sees the first Scratch Youth Messiah at the Royal Albert Hall, offering school and youth choirs a unique opportunity to sing in a performance of Handel’s Messiah, with professional orchestra and soloists, conducted by Suzi Digby OBE

Leith Hill Musical Festival will be including a performance of Sir George Martin’s rarely heard “The Mission Chorales” on Thursday 11th April at Dorking Halls.

The hour-long work has been specially written for Matthew Owens, Organist and Master of Choristers, and the choir, who have a close relationship with the composer.

In July 2013 Sing UK will present the first-ever international festival for children's and youth choirs in the UK. This ground-breaking event will attract 400 young singers from some of the most outstanding youth choirs in the UK, Europe and beyond.

This year’s signed Prom will be The Angry Planet written by Bob Chilcott and Charles Bennett. Dr Paul Whittaker OBE, Artistic Director of the charity Music and the Deaf, will sign with a group of students from Great Baddow High School Signing Choir

Carmen Zgouras and Jonathon Welch were strangers until meeting on Sunday 8 July, when they shared the conductor’s podium at the Royal Albert Hall following an auction to win the chance to conduct the English Festival Orchestra.

As the culmination of a major youth singing programme, The Bach Choir, BBC Singers, National Youth Choir of Great Britain, and children from London schools perform a specially-commissioned work written by composer Bob Chilcott & poet Charles Bennett.

On Sunday The Really Big Chorus performs the world première of Karl Jenkins’ Gods of Olympus at the Royal Albert Hall. The concert sees a partnership with the National Autistic Society and an auction including the chance to conduct the orchestra.
