Lincoln Park Zoo applauds the federal government’s announcement today that it will evaluate a petition to list chimpanzees living in the United States as an endangered species. Doing so will improve welfare and conservation of the species.

National Grandparent’s Day is Sept. 11 and this year some of Lincoln Park Zoo’s elder residents are taking part in the observance during Celebrating Seniors, an educational series taking place each Sunday in September (4, 11, 18, and 25).
