Michelman

Michelman has acquired Clariant’s European based Licomer® business. The purchase includes the Licomer line of floor polish additives, associated intellectual property, equipment and assets.

Michelman is making changes to its organizational structure, pushing management responsibilitie closer to its customers, while focusing executive’s attention on the development of new technologies, products and markets.

Michelman has strengthened its paper coatings team with the hiring of Mr. Martin Scott as Territory Manager, Asia Pacific. Mr. Scott will be responsible for Asian sales and customer support, serving Michelman’s regional paper coating customers.

A new aqueous polyamide dispersion now available from Michelman is designed for use as a fiber sizing in fiber reinforced nylon composites.

Michelman has announced that Corrugated Chemicals, Inc. will now be responsible for all sales and distribution responsibilities for Michelman’s line of branded paper coatings in the Midwest, Central, South, Southeastern, and Eastern United States.

Michelman continues adding depth to its staff with the hiring of Mike Bracken as N. America Territory Manager. Bracken will focus on the needs of key customers including industry leaders in the areas of paper converting, paper coating, and printing.

NatureShield® is a line of environmentally-friendly, water-repellent additives for interior and exterior wood, stone and concrete coatings. All are emulsions of natural oils and waxes that provide excellent water resistance and water beading.

With business volumes rebounding sharply, Michelman has added new reactor capacity at its Cincinnati, Ohio headquarters. The company has also been adding personnel in business units and departments throughout the company.

Nomar is a water based, repulpable coating that when applied to the inside of packaging and packaging partitions eliminates abrasion that occurs between the inside of the shipping container, any partitions that may be used, and the packaged item.

Mr. Michael Kramer has been named Chemical Specialties R&D Manager. Kramer will be responsible for the global chemical specialties R&D activities, including project and technology leadership, technical service, and laboratory management.
