SWAT Environmental Radon Mitigation

A new study indicates a higher risk associated with radon in Portland Oregon. It shows one in four Portland area homes have levels above the recommended EPA action level.

The EPA has estimated that as many as 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year are caused by radon. Radon is a national problem because elevated radon levels have been discovered in every state.

SWAT Environmental has made Inc. Magazine's 5,000 fastest growing companies list for the second consecutive year. As of 2012 SWAT Environmental has a 208% growth over three years.

In a monumental announcement yesterday, HUD (Department of Housing & Urban Development) deployed their new guidelines for mandatory radon testing and radon mitigation in multifamily dwellings. They have made the requirement effective June 4th, 2013.

The U.S. government alerted the American public that radon gas is a bigger problem than previously estimated. In June of 2011, EPA and Surgeon General launched the Federal Radon Action Plan to address the numer two cause of lung cancer in the USA.
