Kaitlin Corrigan, a senior graphic design major at Winona State University is the winner of NSCS' 2009 Holiday Card Contest.

Linda Hale and Chonise Tate of Strayer University are the recipients of a new NSCS scholarship, the E-Scholar Award. This $1,000 award is presented to NSCS members who attend an online university.

NSCS has awarded a $5,000 scholarship to Hongjie Chen, a junior philosophy major at Hillsborough Community College. Chen will be transferring to Boston College.

In partnership with GIECO, NSCS has awarded four $5,000 NSCS-GEICO graduate school scholarships. Award recipients are chosen on the basis of their essays on their graduate school plans, as well as a recommendation letter.

Alexander Flowers, a Roosevelt University graduate student and St. Xavier University alumnus has been awarded a $1,000 service scholarship through The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, an honor society to which he belongs.

The National Society of Collegiate Scholars has awarded Andrew Dilla, an Edinboro PA native with a $7,000 scholarship to assist in funding his Semester at Sea experience.

Amy Taffet is the recipient of the $5,000 Fall Semester Scholar Abroad Scholarship. She will be studying in Salamanca, Spain. NSCS members can apply for these and other scholarships by visiting NSCS’ Web site, www.nscs.org/scholarships.

Five chapters of The National Society of Collegiate Scholars were awarded platinum status at the annual NSCS Convention on August 15. These chapters have reached the highest level of excellence that can be attained by an NSCS chapter.

Lisa Benoit of Ohio is the winner of a national service competition, The Engaging Race. She will receive a $15,000 grant to develop her project, a healthy living program for Mentally Retarded and Developmentally Disabled individuals in Ohio..
