In its latest Economic Outlook, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) paints a bright picture for Latin America. The report underlines the strong potential in the region for investment, particularly in Brazil, Peru and Uruguay.

Hedge funds are the latest to appear on the long list of investment opportunities in Brazil. The largest funds have reportedly earmarked Brazil as a major area for expansion at a time when Brazil’s Finance Minister predicts 7.5% growth.

The steady economy in Brazil and its stable long-term prospects mean that the excellent potential for investment in Brazil will hold steadfast whoever wins the next election.

Known for their big spending at home, especially on cars and real estate, Brazil’s middle classes are now taking their consumer clout abroad. From January to July this year, Brazilians spent a record amount on shopping overseas.

The latest HSBC survey confirms recent Bloomberg findings and put investment in Brazil at the top of global rankings. Between them, Latin America and Brazil are world investment hotspots.

Brazil’s next leader will be decided on 31 October in the second round of presidential elections.
